Curvo Movement is a dance class at the intersection of Modern, Contemporary and Afro-Cuban dance, the ideal combination to infuse flow, technique and freedom to your movement inspired in all human circular motions. With the goal to let you move with fluidity and confidence across elements of spiral, undulation, contraction and high release, etc, the class prepares you for diverse combinations that follow musicality, varied movement qualities, dynamics and simple to complex coordinations. This invigorating class will encourage you to work with unity and purpose and explore movement from a functional and an emotional perspective through the barre, centre work, the floor and across the space.
As a former dancer with the Cuban National Dance Company (Danza Contemporánea de Cuba) known as DCC, I draw a lot of inspiration from Cuban modern dance technique to develop the Curvo Movement dance class.

Curvo Movement's beginner course offers educational content to inspire everyone from beginner and intermediate levels in dance, ballet and any other genre.
The content is considered particularly relevant for these groups of people:
YOUNG & ADULT DANCE ENTHUSIASTS – From beginner to more intermediate. With the aim of helping dancers improve their skills and establish their foundation, each class is carefully structured following correct execution to allow dancers to progress towards a suitable and better skill set acquisition.
DANCE STUDENTS – From beginner to intermediate, all tutorials are created in such a way to help the student advance. It can be very beneficial to both types of students, amateur and professionals currently and actively following dance classes with an aim to learning the fundamentals of Modern, Contemporary floor-work and Afro-Cuban dance.
EX-PROFESSIONAL DANCERS – Former Pro ballet, modern or contemporary dancers, etc, anyone who did stoped dancing for a while and don't know how to jump back again into the dance floor.
TEACHERS & ASPIRING TEACHERS– The designed trainings meant to have a positive impact on the educational journey of the participant. The classes are designed didactically. In relation to the originality, new explorations, and interrelation between the dance practices that Rodríguez develops, the teaching methodology follows a predominantly academic approach, therefore you will be able to benefit from the clarity with which these contents are explained in the videos and in the Training Plans, and pass this knowledge on to your students.
-
You can sign in on any device, phone, tablet, laptop or PC and watch the classes at your own convenience, anytime, from anywhere in the world.
-
The lessons are diverse and suitable for many types of locations; however, tutorials such as warm-up, barre, or floor work sections are best suited for home or dance studio (any place where the floor is safe and smooth and where concentration is possible).
Parts 1 and 2 of Total Space are best suited for a dance studio or a spacious room that allows for a wider range of movements and routines across the floor.
However, I recommend that you first review the classes or watch the courses at home, since the content is rich and comprehensive, it's best to understand all the information so that you can apply them to your next training session.
-
CURVO MOVEMENT is a progressive online course. You are required to start from the very beginning to be able to gather all the material, info and video content.
Jumping directly to another week rather than following up cautiously, might exempt you from some video contents and relevant information.
